About PDRN Science
The story behind the site — and the team who built it.
Why PDRN Science Exists
It started with a question my wife brought home from work.
She's a licensed esthetician, and her clients had started asking about PDRN — Polydeoxyribonucleotide, or Salmon DNA. It was showing up everywhere: social media, high-end skincare brands, aesthetic clinics. Clients wanted to know if it was real or just another trend wrapped in scientific-sounding language.
She knew enough to take it seriously. I knew enough to go digging.
With a background in clinical research, I'm trained to evaluate evidence — to separate what the data actually shows from what someone wants you to believe it shows. So I went looking for the research on PDRN. And what I found was genuinely interesting: a growing body of clinical literature supporting its role in cellular regeneration, wound healing, and skin barrier repair — most of it coming out of South Korea, where PDRN has been used in aesthetic medicine for years.
What I couldn't find was a single consumer-facing resource that presented this science honestly. Everything was either oversimplified marketing copy or buried in clinical journals most people will never read.
That gap is exactly what PDRN Science is designed to fill.
Who We Are
Cole Stubblefield — Founder & Clinical Research Lead
I work in the clinical research industry, where evaluating evidence, understanding study design, and cutting through bias are core parts of the job. I bring that same rigor to everything published on PDRN Science. When we make a claim about an ingredient or a protocol, it's grounded in the actual research — not in what a brand wants you to believe.
I built the tools, the site, and the content framework at PDRN Science because I believe people deserve access to honest, evidence-based skincare information without having to wade through marketing noise to find it.
Licensed Esthetician & Clinical Advisor
My wife brings the hands-on expertise. As a licensed esthetician with real-world experience treating clients across a range of skin concerns — barrier damage, sensitivity, post-procedure recovery, and anti-aging protocols — she provides the clinical skincare perspective that keeps our content grounded in practical reality.
The combination of clinical research methodology and licensed esthetician expertise is what makes PDRN Science different from both the overhyped influencer content and the inaccessible academic literature. We sit in the middle — rigorous, honest, and actually useful.
What We Do Differently
There is no shortage of skincare content on the internet. What is in short supply is content that is honest, science-backed, and free from the influence of whoever is paying for placement.
At PDRN Science, we operate on three principles:
- Transparency first. We disclose our affiliate relationships openly. Our AI tools analyze ingredients and skin health based on science — not on which brands pay us more. If a product has a concerning ingredient, we say so. Always.
- Science over trends. Every piece of content we publish, every tool result we generate, and every product we recommend is grounded in cosmetic chemistry and clinical research — not in what's trending on social media this week.
- Tools that actually help. We built the Ingredient Decoder and Barrier Scanner because we believe you deserve more than a generic ingredient list and a marketing claim. You deserve to understand what is actually in your products and what your skin actually needs.
Our Tools
Ingredient Decoder — Paste or photograph the ingredient list from any skincare product and receive an honest, science-based breakdown of every significant ingredient. We flag irritants, identify synergistic actives, and show you exactly how the formula interacts with PDRN.
Barrier Scanner — Upload a photo of your face and neck and receive an AI-powered visual assessment of your skin barrier health. We identify signs of damage, dryness, sensitivity, and inflammation — and tell you honestly where your skin stands and what it needs next.
Both tools are free to use. Both are powered by AI and grounded in clinical research and esthetician expertise. And neither will ever be influenced by a brand relationship.
A Note on Our AI Tools
We want to be upfront: our tools use artificial intelligence to generate results, and AI is not perfect. Results are educational approximations — not medical diagnoses, not clinical assessments, and not a substitute for seeing a licensed professional in person.
What our tools can do is give you a significantly better starting point than reading a label alone. They can help you ask better questions, make more informed decisions, and understand your skin at a deeper level.
That has always been the goal.
